What or Who is CSA-International?
The following information is quoted from the CSA International's Web site
-
Effective January 27, 1999, the Canadian Standards
Association became known as CSA International!
The new name is one small component of an exciting plan that
will help us achieve our vision for the future. Specifically, to
ensure that CSA International is perceived by its members,
customers, volunteers, regulators and employees as the
leading edge global provider of integrated services for
standards development, product certification and testing, and
management system registration.
The MARKS you need to compete!
CSA International offers more today than ever before!
You know about the integrity of our certification marks, our
commitment to meeting your deadlines, and our testing
expertise. But what you may not know is that, over the past
decade, CSA International's role as a certification and testing
organization has grown.
We are accredited in the U.S.
We are proud to be recognized as a Nationally Recognized
Testing Laboratory (NRTL) by the U.S. Occupational Safety
and Health Administration (OSHA). That means we test and
certify your products to U.S. as well as Canadian standards.
And you can be sure that your certification will be recognized
by federal, state, provincial, and local authorities.
We know the North American market.
Whether your products are destined for the U.S. or Canada,
we know the standards and codes that apply. We'll test to
those criteria, and give the appropriate marks to qualified
products.
Our marks are accepted throughout Canada and the U.S.
Our mark already appears on over one billion products sold
each year. And you can count on that number to grow. We are
continually working to gain broader recognition, and to promote
CSA International with buyers and manufacturers.
Use the mark that's recognized and accepted throughout
Canada and the U.S., at federal, state, provincial, and
municipal levels.
This Mark may appear alone or with indicators.
If it appears alone, it means that the
product is certified for the Canadian
market, to the applicable Canadian
standards.
